There is no "particulate" sensor but there are a pair of pressure sensors used to measure the differential pressure across the DPF. The differential pressure data is used to determine when a DPF regeneration is needed. I suspect the mechanic is referring to a one of the exhaust differential pressure sensors. Connect MX808 with OBD firstly. Before attempting a DPF regeneration, select “Auto scan” to scan the vehicle for engine codes, the DPF regeneration cannot occur while codes are present. Go to. Service >> DPF >> Hot functions >> DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) manual regeneration >> Yes >> F-350 >> OK. Make sure the following initial
Regeneration in the "new and improved" trucks can take from 25 minutes to 50 minutes, so plan accordingly. All that extreme heat from the burn-outs tore a hole in my exhaust pipe not to mention extra heat causing damage to engine components like starters, turbos, wiring to the computers which can totally mess up your day if you have more than 7
2. Throttle valve gets broken. In diesel engine this is used only for smooth engine shutdown, and for the DPF regeneration. No functional throttle valve -> no regeneration. 3. Regular too short driving distance. Engine does not warm up to the 75c degree temperature and the regeneration does not happen.

The temperature is around 600 degree, giving it a good blast whilst regenerating or pottering around has no part of regeneration temps, infact flooring it whilst regenerating seems to drop the temps.this is the opposite of driving whilst not regenerating where wot put temps up around 350 degrees.

how does bmw dpf regeneration work
